Hugh Lane Gallery Dublin
Dublin City Gallery, known locally as the Hugh Lane Gallery is a treasure trove of works by world-renowned names, as well as pieces by contemporary Irish and international artists. Located at Charlemont House, Parnell Square North, Dublin 1, the collection includes Impressionist masterpieces by Renoir, Degas and Monet. Recently, the Hugh Lane Gallery was able to acquire the entire studio of Francis Bacon complete with thousands of items. This studio has been reconstructed at the gallery as a permanent exhibit. There is also an extensive programme of lectures, tours & workshops at the Hugh Lane for both adults and children to which admission is free on Sundays. Admission to the permanent collection is also free, while adults pay E7 to see the Francis Bacon studio. Opening hours are 0930-1800hrs from Tuesday to Thursday, 0930-1700hrs on Friday & Saturday and 1100-1700 on Sundays. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
